Henry Kwabena Ofori
"The spirit of art has been in me from infancy. I remember as children, we'd sleep under a patched ceiling. I could see all kinds of images in the patches, but when I'd draw my siblings' attention to them, they'd look at me with surprise.

"I was born on September 2, 1975 in the Eastern Region of Ghana. I grew up with my mother and five brothers and sisters. I studied mechanical engineering. With the knowledge I acquired in mechanical drawing, molding and bending of metals, I proceeded to carry out my long cherished dream of sculpture and art.

"My style of art work is relief art. My inspiration comes from the art of Egyptians in the olden days - their prowess in arts and construction was amazing!

"I first create a model of my choice and make a cement mold. My media are resin, filler and sometimes fiberglass. I then polish the relief sculpture and give it a metallic finish before presenting it on a framed velvet panel. My message is an invitation to understand the way and life of Africa."
Henry Kwabena Ofori's first exhibitions were held in Ghana in 2004 and 2008.
