Artisan Crafted Recycled Metal Rustic Optometrist Sculpture

The patient leans forward and gazes into the lens while the doctor conducts the eye exam. Both are shaped from sparkplugs with arms and legs of metal bars. Nuts and bolts, rings and die cut scraps become ophthalmologic equipment and the whimsical figures stand on a die plate. Armando Ramírez transforms castoff auto parts into art.

Ramírez does not give his sculptures a fine polished finish, therefore smudges and scratches may be present.

    Perfect for optometry school graduation

Posted by Laura on May 10th 2020

I bought this for my sister as a graduation gift from that to optometry school. She loves it. It has been on her desk since she started her job. It looks in perfect condition and is a great conversation starter.

    It was a hit!

I purchased this for an optometrist friend's birthday. It arrived in a timely manner, was well-packaged (the premium gift wrap was also really nice), the piece was well-made and it looked very much like the example. My friend loved it and has it on his office desk now. I'm happy I was able to support a skilled artist and will look for more to buy in the future

Very unique and interesting gift for an ophthalmologist. Larger than expected and very well done. The recipient really liked it and everyone thought it was cool.

This was very well liked by the doctors I work for. One was wasn't sure if he wanted it at home or the office.

    Can You See Me Now?

I bought this for my Optometrist and am saving it for the holidays. I am a big fan of Armando's work and think it needs to be on display for patients to see.

    A Unique Gift

Posted by Diane on Sep 23rd 2017

For thirty years I have bought my optometrist an eye-related Christmas gift and I seek out the unusual for him. When I saw this sculpture I knew this was IT for 2017! It is totally clever and says it all about the profession. He is going to love it! Thank you to Armando Ramirez.
