The historic paintings in Cacaxtla, Tlaxcala inspire artisans from the Angel Cerón Artisan Association to depict a jaguar warrior in ceramic. Believed to channel the courage and might of the jaguar, the warrior was highly revered by the Tlaxcalteca people of 600-950 A.D. The sculpture portrays the warrior wearing the jaguar's paws on the hands and feet, as well as a headdress that represents the spotted cat.
