From Ghanaian artisan Salihu Ibrahim, this hand carved door is a small scale depiction of a Baule door. Traditionally made by the Baule people of the Ivory Coast, the doors were intended as a display of artistic prowess for guests visiting prestigious homes. Ibrahim's own prowess and skill are clearly shown here, where he carves a horned mask figure onto the door, all made from local sese wood and painted a dark brown color.
