From the Hausa word for 'antelope', this barewa is hand carved from local rubberwood by Ghanaian artisan Abdul Aziz Mohamadu. He decorates the base of the antlers with textured aluminum plate and adds yellow, black, and red painting to the face of the mask. The curling horns are a beautiful example of Mohamadu's carving skill.
