Agni on Lotus

This ornate and expertly carved statuette is crafted by Wayan Rendah, an artisan from Indonesia. The artisan hand-carves the statuette out of suar wood and preserves the rich grain of the wood. In the sacred book of Weda, Indra, Agni, Waruna, Soma and Baruna are the Guardians of Asura, which are Devas that can control the elements. This sculpture depicts Agni, the Hindu deva who controls fire.
