Believed to channel the courage and might of the eagle, this warrior was highly revered by the ancient Aztec. The sculpture portrays the warrior wearing fierce-looking headdress that represents the powerful bird. Holding a club in one hand, his shield is adorned with eagle feathers. Only those born to the elite classes could aim of becoming an eagle warrior, after killing at least four or five enemies. Artisans from the Angel Cerón Artisan Association replicate this admirable ceramic sculpture from the original, dated 1325 – 1521 AD.
