Color in Motion

With ribbons of color swirling through his wings and body, this little hummingbird is color in motion. Artisan Elena Herrera of Costa Rica handcrafts this blown glass figurine and adds colorful details with glass paint. Gold thread is attached to a glass loop at the top of the hummingbird's back for easy hanging.

The very nature of hand-blown glass artistry implies the possibility of miniscule air bubbles and/or slight imperfections. This is part of the charm of this art form, for it ensures that no two pieces will ever be identical.
