Piano and trumpet, trombone, bass and sax jam together in a darkened nightclub. Inspired by their lively improvisations, Paulo Cesar Complex conjures a jazz band with his palette knife. Syncopated rhythms and the 'call and response' musical dialogue came to characterize gospel, then jazz – considered an American musical genre. Yet the music has become a favorite around the world.
