A cheerful diamond pattern in fuchsia and turquoise highlights this 100% cotton loom-woven cell phone bag created by married artisans Nelson Hernandez and Wendhy Salones of Mexico. For these Oaxaca state natives, creating handicrafts using age-old weaving techniques handed down from Zapotec ancestors in Santo Tom√°s Jalieza meant making the tough choice of giving up their professional careers. However, they are determined to pass on this rich legacy to their children; says Nelson, 'We dream of being able to contribute to the development of the community...spending time teaching the backstrap loom weaving tradition, something which is being lost in many Santo Tom√°s Jalieza homes.' Chartreuse and tangerine thread is incorporated into the rest of the unlined bag's fabric. A zipper closure and fuchsia strap finish off the practical bag's design.
