Ghanaian artisan Abdul Aziz Mohamadu creates this colorful mask using local rubberwood. He carves the wood by hand into his own design before sanding and painting it over the course of two to three weeks. He uses recycled glass beads to decorate the areas beneath the hollow eyes, and uses clay to give the mask the outer border of the design an attractive distressed finish.
