"I've always enjoyed painting. I remember when I was six years old and we were having a dinner party at home, and I just sat there trying to replicate a portrait of St. George, and of a woman sitting on a balcony fanning herself. My father worked in graphics, specializing in high-relief and tags. I believe that universe of colors, prints and papers awoke my passion for the visual arts.

"When I was about 10 years old I took part in the school's art competition. I painted a pilot with a helmet inside a race car, and I won second place. That wasn't enough for me though. I believed my painting was the best one. This event became a turning in my life, because that's when my talent was discovered. Whenever we had assignments in school that required team work, everyone wanted me in their team to make the illustrations of historical people such as D. Pedro I, Tiradentes, Princess Elizabeth, etc.

"At the time there was a big musical movement in Brazil called 'Jovem Guarda' and people would often ask me to paint the portraits of the singers, like Roberto Carlos. The first person to sit for me was my grandfather, when I was 12 years old. Then it was his colleagues and neighbors.

"My father has been my greatest supporter, he drove me to art classes after regular school. When I was 15 years old I began to look for new courses, and I treasured the knowledge I received at the School of Fine Arts, the Brazilian Society of Fine Arts, the Lyceum of Arts and Crafts, etc.

"My professional experience has been at different publishing houses and marketing agencies, where I worked in different positions, including the marketing designer, lay-out, art director, and illustrator. Nowadays, I design as well as paint.

"In short, art could very well be a search for God. It is the search for transcendence and universal harmony. The search for lost paradise, of something really precious that humankind lost. Art could be considered as the register of people's painful search, the consciousness and perplexity in front of humankind on Earth.

"I have high hopes about working together with Novica. While I paint, I can let Novica deal with promoting my paintings. I trust their ability and dedication to look out for artists worldwide."
