"I studied drawing and painting with Catarina Baratelli and I did some free studies in the Visual School of Arts at Parque Laje in Rio de Janeiro.

"My work is characterized by the predominance of line and by a free hand, which permits me total liberty of movement as much in painting as in sculpture. I transform, I erase, tracing hollows, creating geometric forms that reorganize space. More and larger concrete forms in my work are a sign that I am in a process of passage from lyrical graphics toward a new structuring.

"Since 1970 I have exhibited my work in such places as Galerias Candido Mendes, Artespaco, the National Museum of Fine Arts - who acquired my large format sculptures - and the Museum of Modern Art in Rio de Janeiro.

"I am a self-taught sculptor. I believe that the artist develops only through experimentation, and our works grow through continuity. My trajectory began at the age of 17 when I began my studies in art, and they grew parallel with other activities, mainly journalism. Today I have more time and freedom to dedicate to personal expression.

"Showing with Novica is a unique and fantastic opportunity. Before that I knew nothing about the universe opened up by the Internet."
