"Painting was made present in my family through my father. My sister and I maintained this hobby throughout our lives. We lived in Mato Grosso do Sul, a state in west central Brazil, and we came to Rio de Janeiro when I was 15 years old. I followed a professional career that didn't leave a lot of free time for painting, but I remained a great admirer of classic and modern artists like Renoir, Monet, Picasso, Kandinski, Portinarti and Pedro Americo, among many others.

"Only after retiring and leaving the executive lifestyle behind could I devote myself more freely to my great passion. I began to take courses such as the one at the Calouste Goulbekian Arts Center, and my work evolved. It was at this time that I made a definitive choice for abstract painting. It is through colors and forms that are free and harmonious that I get to translate my feelings for my spectators.

"It is very gratifying for an artist to feel that his or her work mobilizes other people. It is a wonderful exchange. The Internet is a vehicle that I discovered recently that permits this interchange. To participate in Novica is a fantastic experience - I can be seen by a countless number of people alongside artists from everywhere."
