"I was born in Accra, and I craft dolls and decor accessories. My friends describe me as friendly and hardworking.

"I learned how to craft dolls in school and began pursuing it as a hobby because I love it. I mastered this art by practicing continuously to help improve my technique.

"I use cotton African fabrics and love combining different elements to make a doll. My love for art inspires me.

"I studied art in school and I'm proud to be an artist. I used to do creative arts and loved to work with my hands. I attended a polytechnic school to learn graphic design. During that time, I lived with an aunt who didn't approve of my career choice. She said people attend university to use pens and I wanted to use pencils and erasers. I eventually dropped out of school because I didn't have any financial support, and left her house to live with an uncle.

"I began crafting dolls and one day I saw a woman in the market selling dolls that were similar to mine. I asked if I could bring her some of my mine and she said yes. I visited her shop and showed her my work. She said I needed to add some finishing touches to them, but took the ones I had and asked me to make more.

"Years later, I took some dolls to an exporting company but the middlemen cheated me. At the time, it was my only source of income. I later began selling directly to my clients which allowed me to earn money.

"A challenging time for me was a period when I developed a tumor. It deformed me and some people believed I was cursed and didn't want to get close. After the operation, people realized the deformity was a result of the tumor and I thank God the operation was successful. I am a living testimony because I'm alive.

"I design dolls and maintain quality standards. My craft has created jobs and income for the community members who assist me when I have a lot of orders. My dream is to make this work my legacy."
