Crossing swords and glistening beads adorn Awudu Saaed's original mask. He calls it 'Akofena' or 'Sword of War' in the Twi dialect spoken by the Akan people of Ghana. Saaed carves the sese wood mask by hand, featuring cut-out eyes and a narrow chin. He details the black mask with brown and green painted accents.
