The Grebo peoples, a sub-group of the Kru tribe of Ivory Coast and Liberia, create several styles of masks. Perhaps the most striking is the war mask, designed to terrify enemies with its multiple pairs of eyes. Salihu Ibrahim in Ghana faithfully recreates the Grebo warrior mask from sese wood, carving and painting it by hand.
