This breathtaking catrina sculpture is the original creation of Luis Morales in Mexico. The origin of the catrina is in artist José Guadalupe Posada's satirical etchings of 'La Calavera Catrina' in 1910, which mocked the pretensions and aspirations of Mexican high society. Crafted from ceramic, the skeletal figure is dressed to the nines, including a feathered Quetzalcóatl boa draped around her neck. Earrings and an elaborate picture hat complete her ensemble.
