Tenango is one of Mexico's most widely recognized embroidery styles, but few people know it is from a small town called Tenango de Doria, Hidalgo, an Otomi community. This cushion cover by Guadalupe Navarro is a good example of traditional motifs which focus on local plants and animals. The reverse side is solid black with a zipper.
