The Akans call it Nyansapow, 'Wisdom Knot.' In Ghana, tradition says that if you will undo a knot a wise man made, be sure you are at least as wise or wiser. Skillfully carved from cedar by Nana Frimpong, this stately stool portrays oneness among the chief, his elders and his people.

Frimpong is chief carver for Otumfour, the King of the Ashanti. He has a deep interest in the culture of his native Africa. Each of his sculptures is one of a kind, painstakingly crafted by hand, thus each stool will not necessarily have the same designs on the seat, however the design of the base will always be the same.

This durable, authentic example of African tradition will make an elegant addition to any home décor.
